Last updated: 20/12/2025

These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by LockFort Security (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking or using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Services

LockFort Security provides locksmith and related security services, including but not limited to:

  • Emergency lockouts

  • Lock repair and replacement

  • Lock upgrades

  • Security advice

All services are provided on a best-endeavours basis.

2. Proof of Authority

We reserve the right to request reasonable proof that you are authorised to gain entry to or request work on a property. This may include:

  • Photo ID

  • Proof of address

  • Confirmation from a landlord, agent, or property owner

  • Utility Bills

If satisfactory proof cannot be provided, we may refuse service.
Evidence such as photographs of the proof you provide may need to be taken and stored.

Users of this service must accept that if proof of authorisation is only able to be provided once entry is gained, they have no more than 5-minutes to provide it or we may refuse to proceed and may contact the police if we reasonably suspect unlawful access.

3. Damage & Non-Destructive Entry

We always aim to use non-destructive methods where possible and reasonable care will always be taken. However:

  • Non-destructive entry is not guaranteed

  • Some locks or situations require drilling or forceful entry which may damage the lock, the door or surroundings

  • By agreeing to work, you accept that damage may occur where unavoidable

We are not liable for damage that is necessary to gain lawful access or complete the job.

4. Existing Faults & Lock Condition

We are not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing damage or wear

  • Poor-quality, worn, or previously damaged locks

  • Internal door or frame issues not visible prior to work

Older or budget locks especially may fail during normal locksmith procedures.

5. Pricing & Payment

  • Prices may be quoted in advance or confirmed on inspection

  • Emergency and out-of-hours work may attract higher fees

  • Payment is due immediately upon completion unless otherwise agreed

  • We reserve the right to stop work if payment is refused

  • We reserve the right to pass on your details to appropriate debt-collection agents in the event of non-payment

All prices are subject to change based on complexity and time required.

6. Call-Out Fees

LockFort Security does not charge a call-out fee by default for jobs that involve less than 30 minutes travel time from our base of operations in Newton-le-Willows (WA12), however, surcharges may be used when work occurs after 10pm, or if:

  • Access is denied

  • Pre-agreed work is cancelled after arrival

  • Proof of authority cannot be provided

7. Parts & Materials

  • Any supplied parts remain our property until paid in full

  • Replacement locks and parts are supplied with manufacturer warranties only

  • We are not responsible for manufacturer defects, however reasonable efforts will most likely be deployed to rectify the issue depending on the situation.

8. Security Advice

Any security advice provided is general guidance only and does not guarantee prevention of crime or unauthorised access.

A suitably skilled, equipped and determined agent sadly still has a every chance of bypassing or overcoming even the highest quality security systems.

9. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses

  • Our liability is limited to the value of the service provided

  • Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence

10. Cancellations

  • Non-emergency bookings should be cancelled with reasonable notice

  • Late cancellations may still incur a surcharge

11. Complaints

Any concerns should be raised as soon as possible so we can attempt to resolve them fairly and promptly. You can email us at info@lockfortsecurity.co.uk

12. Force Majeure

LockFort Security shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform services due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, traffic conditions, accidents, police incidents, power outages, or equipment failure.

13. Customer Presence & Safety

Customers should remain present during work where reasonably possible. LockFort Security accepts no responsibility for items, surfaces, or conditions not made known prior to commencement of work.

14. Keys & Security Information

Any keys, codes, or security information provided to us are handled with reasonable care. LockFort Security does not retain copies of keys or extensive security details unless explicitly agreed in writing – we record what lock we fitted and when.

15. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
